This old Turkish fort above the city of Rethimnon in Crete caught my attention as an object to draw. The picture is somewhat memorable for me as I had kind of a quarrel with my travelling friends. Once the drawing was finished the quarrel somehow had resolved itself without anybody having said a word. The nice part of the picture is the palm tree growing from the old well, happily the Turkish fort is not accommodated any more and the copula is only a remnant of earlier and darker times.
