Cadzand, Zeeland, Netherlands

From the window of a dear friend's house I drew this pretty Dutch churchtower of the Cadzand church that has a peace symbol in it's couryard and gardens.

The drawing took a lot of detail when getting to the houses of this village inbetween the islands of the Netherlands and Belgium. The typical roofs and brick buildings always have this beautiful play of triangles which I like a lot. The drawing was a bit darker, but my computer could help in clearing this up.

Trentino Castle, Italy

Fantasizing about castles I encountered one in real in the Trentino valley. It captures my imagination and I used some of my most vivid colours to bring it to life. My newly revived technique to work wet in wet helped to create the rough rocks and mountains which so much characterises this area.

New Hampshire

These beautiful trees stood there lonely in the middle of the lawn in midsummer
sunshine.

Tiltenberg, Duinen Nederland

One of these rare pictures where the dunes are used for crops and spring and fall seem almost providing a same feel of change of season. These two ducks are finding their way in this field of plenty when winter has not set its mark and the richness of the fall can still be felt in the air.

I painted the watercolour in two sessions with a high time limit as I could escape for just two ours every time. One can see that the perspective is seen from above. That is the viewpoint where the field shows at its best.

Toscany Village

This far away Toscany village viewed from the area of grapes and lazy sunny afternoons just sat there sleeping in somewhat cloudy wheather. I crafted this fragment with a small phtopshop program, but the real watercolour can be seen below.

I gave it to a friend to use in his house in the States and he was so kind to send me this picture.

Utrecht, Grachten

Utrecht has two major Grachten which wind through the inner circle of the city. This drawing was made at one of them on a beautiful summer afternoon. The light between the trees caught my attention and was the main inspiration. Of course a lantarn and the proverbial bike always present in Holland were just there to be put in the picture.

Sunflowers Umbria, Italy

Very amazing to sit in the morning heat in a field of sunflowers, somewhere in the beautiful mountains of Umbria. I got up at six and started out really early. Once it got so hot, that I could not sit any more I marked the spot to get back the next morning. I liked the picture and it has been used for many purposes such as this years Season's Greetings.
