One of these rare pictures where the dunes are used for crops and spring and fall seem almost providing a same feel of change of season. These two ducks are finding their way in this field of plenty when winter has not set its mark and the richness of the fall can still be felt in the air.
I painted the watercolour in two sessions with a high time limit as I could escape for just two ours every time. One can see that the perspective is seen from above. That is the viewpoint where the field shows at its best.
Fantasizing about castles I encountered one in real in the Trentino valley. It captures my imagination and I used some of my most vivid colours to bring it to life. My newly revived technique to work wet in wet helped to create the rough rocks and mountains which so much characterises this area.
